Took a mini four-day vacation to Las Vegas with Mom and Sophie. Spent the first night in Barstow and then on to Las Vegas where we enjoyed the atmosphere and buffets immensley.
Leaving For Las Vegas
Once again, mom is very anxious to go. So, off we went for our short adventure in Las Vegas with Sophie the cat.
The Magic Forest
A completely volunteered program created this Christmas displayed they called The Magic Forest. Lights everywhere, with holiday displays throughout and a miniature train which traveled through it all.
Fire Alarm Emergency
On our first night there, suddenly the hotel alarm was sounding, warning us to 'leave the building... a situation has been reported... do not use the elevators' so we hurried to evacuate. Unfortunately without the use of the elevator, we were left only with the stairs that after a brief analysis was determined mom could not have maneuvered those steps. For a moment, we were at a loss, then found out it was a false alarm.
Mom Talks
The times we leave, in solitude in our room are the times we find that we share the most. Daily life keeps me pretty busy so this is one of the reasons a brief vacation is welcome. One day we won't all be here and those opportunities to listen and speak to a loved one vanish so these moments, talking about nothing, are the most important moments in my life.
Adventures of Sophie
Sophie traveled in a cat cage in the backseat of the car for five hours straight and never uttered a sound. She was then hastily placed into a duffel bag, carried or snuck into the room and never uttered a sound. She is an amazing cat.
