Last Stolen Kiss
by Allen Williams circa 1988

ten thousand year old forms
crushed to death
ground to sand
make a fitting tomb.

seduced by it's darkness
haunted of vision
the wind howls loudly at midnight
screaming names of devils
not yet met
as alone you surrender to the sea.

patches of sputum
sprayed from the gods
ride peaks of slippery black water
returning to shore once again
to lap earth crotch
and slide it's masterful tongue
down the throat of it's willing victim
for one final kiss.

a kiss which will not be returned.

a lonely man lies
wrung in the tide
laced with kelp
drowns in his dreams
