Her Eyes Tell of Stories
by Allen Williams circa 1995
In the still, dawning hours they speak
With their warmth and tenderness they acknowledge
a woman rests behind their brown shadows
As a new day begins with her glance
Evening appears in her eyes that caress
Yet still when her smile is not worn
and her arms lie mute by her side
In her eyes a child yearns to be kissed goodnight
To awaken in the embrace of one who cares
Through her eyes her future unfolds
to bless one fortunate enough to touch her soul
and speak to the love that lies hidden deep within her
deep within her deep brown eyes
I keep sheltered safely within my heart
